April 2015 // North Korea rarely opens other parts than Pyongyang to western travelers. Photos from the North-Eastern part of the country Orang, Chongjin – the city of iron and Rason the «Special Economic Zone» on the border triangle with China and Russia. The Rason Special Economic Zone, was established in the early 1990s to promote economic growth through foreign investment. It is similar to the Special Economic Zones set up by the People's Republic of China and elsewhere to pilot market economics in a designated controlled area.
