Bangladesh: Surfing youth

Spring 2018 // According to UNICEF, Bangladesh has the fourth highest rate of child marriage in the world, with about 22% of girls married off before they reach the age of 15. Facing a conservative muslim society the girls of the Bangladesh Surf Club are only truly freed from criticism about strict gender norms riding the waves of Cox’s Bazar’s shoreline in southeastern Bangladesh.
